pattern: celtic from rowan 40
yarn: Smart and Alpakka from SandnesGarn

1) the original yarns are felted tweed and kid classic. My choice of yarn
makes this a budget version, as they cost about 25% of the rowan yarns. I'm not familiar with felted tweed, but believe it is much finer than Smart, which is a quite rough and rugged yarn. Smart worked really well though, and I love the contrast between the super soft and cozy alpacca and the tweedy, rough Smart.
2) there's a mistake in the chart, errata here.
3) difficulty level: the cables are a bit tricky, I was happy to have done Durrow before so I was prepared. I find that the hardest part about this pattern though, is that it is cabled all over, so there's no place to relax, not even on the wrong side.

Good to see you posting again! :-)
oh wow! just gorgeous. looks great on you as well! and yes, felted tweed is a lovely yarn, but smart seems to have worked perfectly for this pattern. (hmm, i might have to pop by the yarn store later ...)

So pleased to see you back.
Marie - it is so beautiful! I never did finish mine - I opted to use the yarn for Tangled Yoke. You are my hero - Sheila
Gorgeous! I can imagine that would have taken a lot of concentration with all over cables like that!
looks great and the yarn/colors are fab for this pattern!
