Hot Tomato

Because nothing says Summer like wool and cashmere..

The red colour is the point here. It took me a long time, and loads of mistakes, to find a soft warm red colour that is right for me. It had to be warm in a tomato kind of way, but not too orange. Very tricky. But I think I got it right. I intend to wear it with the chocolate brown skirt in the picture. An odd combination, I know, but I like it. I never liked to mix red with black, white or navy - too much contrast for my taste, too 80's I guess.

Spec
Pattern: Based on a template in 1000 Sweaters
Yarn:RYC Cashsoft DK
Started 29 September 2006
Finished 28 May 2007

Necklace to match: Glass nuggets and metal chain

Notes: I have used body 7 from 1000 Sweaters again. It's fitted, and I love how the decreases/increases are placed a quarter towards the middle rather than the sides. The piped edges and scooped neck was added by me. The yarn is already pilling, I guess it's all the proof I need that there really is cashmere in this yarn! I love the colour but am not sure I would use the yarn again.

Anyway, goodbye for now red sweater, see you in October!
