Third pattern repeat is the same as first pattern repeat. The point is to alternate between the first and the second pattern repeat, so that the daisies aren't stacked one on top of the other.

After the third pattern repeat start heel:

Heel
Heel flap:Work 32 heel stitches back and forth as follows (keep remaining stitches on holder):
row 1 (RS) knit
row 2 (WS) k3, purl to last 3 stitches, k3
Work total of 24 rows, ending with a WS row
Turn Heel: Work short rows as follows:
Row 1: (RS) k18, k2tog tbl, k1, turn
Row 2: Sl1 purlwise, p5, p2tog, p1, turn
Row 3: Sl1 knitwise, knit to1 stitch before gap, k2tog tbl, k1, turn
Row 4: Sl1 purlwise, purl to 1 stitch before gap, p2tog, p1, turn
Repeat row 3 and row 4 until all heel stitches have been worked. 18 stitches remain. Cut yarn
Gussets: Rejoin yarn for working in the round as follows:
Row 1: On right side of heel flap, with RS facing, pick up and knit 15 stitches, then knit 9 heel stitches on same needle (needle 1). With needle 2 knit remaining 9 heel stitches and pick up and knit 15 stitches along left side of heel flap. With needles 3 and 4 work across instep while starting fourth pattern repeat (which is the same as second pattern repeat). Remember that each pattern repeat starts with 8 rows of stockinette.
Row 2: Knit 32 stitches, knit pattern as established for next 32 stitches
Row 3: Needle 1: ssk, knit to end, needle 2 knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog, needles 3 and 4 work pattern as established
Repeat rows 2 and 3 seven more times until 16 stitches on each needle

Continue in pattern until a total of 7 pattern repeats have been worked from the top of the leg. I started the toe at this point, but in retrospect I think it would have looked nicer with a few more rows, say 4 rows, of stockinette before starting the toe.

Toe:
(16 stitches on each needle)
Row 1: on each needle knit to last 2 stitches on needle, k2tog
Rows 2, knit
Repeat these 2 rows until 36 stitches remain. From this point knit every row as row 1 until 8 stitches remain.
Cut yarn, thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight.

Second sock, same as first sock obviously, but it's nice to start with the second pattern repeat instead of first.

Having trouble with the heel (these are my first socks, ever.) When I slip the 11 stitches the yarn should just cross in front/back (WS) of all of them? And then, what is the gap? I keep seeming to get off center. Send help to: melissagarber@hotmail.com or bubilina on ravelry:) Thanks!
